Our Mission
Our mission is to promote the well-being of animals
 and responsible human-animal relationships.

Stray Pets in Need of MA, Inc. was formed in 1991 to promote the well-being of animals and responsible human/animal relationships. 2006 marked our fifteenth year anniversary working in ten Metrowest communities. Each year over 400 animals are placed in new, carefully selected adoptive homes.

  volunteers rule

We could not have provided as many caring homes without first acknowledging the tremendous work of our volunteers. As an all-volunteer non-profit agency, our volunteers devote countless hours to providing foster care, direct care at our transitional shelters, adoption counseling at our two adoption sites, and the volunteers who man the phones, edit the newsletter, The Wanderer, update our webpages and provide administrative support. We thank our volunteers who developed two films on SPIN's adoption policies and programs.

To make a donation and sign up for our newsletter, The Wanderer, go to the Printer Friendly Donation Page.

Our adopting families opened their hearts and homes to animals that were strays, injured, abused or surrendered to provide a chance for a better life. These are true heroes-people who open their homes, lives and hearts to animals with often unknown pasts and even some with special needs who may have medically unstable futures.

We also thank our donors who have responded to funding efforts to relocate our Natick transition shelter. Our donors were very generous in adding to our growing new shelter fund so that we will get closer to our dream of expanded space in the Metrowest area. Donors also sponsored individual cats and litters providing for food, litter, veterinary care, vaccinations and medications. Donors supported Springfest in Natick, our April yard sale and contributed litter, food, office supplies throughout the year.

We continue to have an active spay/neuter program-all adopted animals leaving SPIN are spayed/neutered. We will not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. SPIN continues to remain committed to the need for animal education and we have participated in over 30 community events in 2005. We thank everyone for their support and look forward to an even more active 2006.
